During the 1981-1982 hockey season, Topps released a set of cards with a twist: United States hockey fans on the East coast got different cards than hockey fans on the West coast. It was an effort to make the set more appealing to each region.
Did it work? Probably not, as Topps did not produce hockey cards for the next two seasons.
