Patrick Sharp scored his 17th goal of the season on Wednesday in a game against the Dallas Stars.
OK, it was an empty-net goal. Look at any player who scores 20, 30 or 40 goals in a season and they are bound to have at least one ENG. Plus, Sharp is put in high-pressure situations like the penalty kill, and in this case, the last minute of play with the opposing goalie pulled for the extra attacker.
Currently, Sharp is still 4th overall in the NHL for goal scoring, trailing Sidney Crosby, Steven Stamkos and Alexander Semin.
